The Capsicum store, located in the heart of Amsterdam's vibrant historic centre, has a great variety of fine fabrics to choose from, the following is a small selection:
Autumn Range - an ottoman (rib) in two-tone. This fabric is ideal when a heavy drape is required, and comes in a range of warm colours.
If something lighter is required, you might try Dupion Silk, which is woven from yarn spun from a twin or dupionne cocoon, creating its characteristic irregularity. Also available in a range of colours.
The Batik Range, involves a technique where wax is applied to certain areas of the fabric, following which the fabric is dipped in a colour bath. The area covered by the wax absorbs no dye, thus creating the unique pattern.
The stunning Crewel Range of fabrics uses a traditional embroidery technique of wool on cotton or linen, all done by hand in Kashmir. It comprises multi-coloured wool on a natural cotton base. A wonderful enhancement to any room.
Ready-made curtains are also available, such as the DOT Range - made with multi-coloured dots of embroidered wool onto 100% cotton organdie.
